Connect with God: Do Holy Work
As you Connect with God through prayer make plans with your family to:
By connecting to God on a regular basis you will be strengthening your faith together as you remember and celebrate that God is always with you—no matter what.
(Do) Holy Work
Family Activity—Loving God:
Every day or once a week gather together and share your highs and lows, thank God for being with you during these times.
Family Activity—Loving Neighbor (Outreach Suggestion):
Family prayer ministry: Have everyone in your family identify someone they want to pray for over the next three months. Write a letter to that person letting them know you are praying for them from Sept-Nov. Ask them if there is anything specific they want you to pray for. Every week reach out to this person and let them know you are still praying for them. (Instead of a letter you might choose to draw a picture to send or to make a phone call)
Family Prayer:
In the morning when I rise
And lift my eyes to see the day,
Help me, Lord, to look for you.
In the day when I am rushed
or tired from the work,
Help me Lord, to look for you.
In the night when I am home
And gathered with my family,
Help me Lord, to look for you.
In my sleep when I’m at rest
And my imagination runs wild and free
Help me Lord, to look for you. Amen.
