Let Us Break Bread Together (McIntyre)
Words (Acts 2:42) and Music: African American Spiritual
This arrangement of the favorite Holy Communion hymn (UM Hymnal, no. 618) is by Dean McIntyre. It preserves the rather slow tempo of the hymn as it is traditionally sung at Communion, but it is in a Blues or Gospel style. Accompanists should emphasize the rhythm and accents, and the volume should encourage enthusiastic and joyful singing rather than quiet meditation. There is no pause between stanzas.
