O Come, All Ye Faithful - Two-Octave Handbell Choir (PDF format)
This arrangement is for two-octave handbell choirs to supplement the piano or organ accompaniment of the singing of this Christmas carol by the congregation. Because of the limited range of the handbells, it should not be used as the only accompaniment. Directors should check the harmonizations used by keyboard accompanists to be sure they do not clash with the harmony of this arrangement. This arrangement uses the harmonization in The United Methodist Hymnal, number 234.
Performance Notes
The notes marked with a tr (trill) may be played either as an actual trill using the note a whole step above or as a shake on the given note.
Measures 1-21 should be used for all stanzas except the last. Measures 22-30 are an interlude immediately preceding the final stanza and may be played by handbells alone or doubled by keyboard, or the keyboard may enter on beat 4 of ms. 26. The final stanza's accompaniment is ms. 31-50.
