She wrote the hymn at the Massanetta Springs Bible Conference after hearing a sermon by the Rev. Dr. Syngman Rhee, former National Council of Churches President, Presbyterian Church-USA GA Moderator and seminary professor. He is now the Special Assistant to the President for Global Ministry and Advancement at Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, Virginia.
