Discipleship Ministries chosen as one of seven 2019 religious fundraising seminar sites
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Nov. 14, 2018/DiscipleshipMinistries/ -- Discipleship Ministries has been selected by the Lake Institute on Faith & Giving to host an intensive fundraising training seminar for church leaders Aug. 5-8, 2019. At the end of the event, participants will earn the Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF) by the Lake Institute, part of the prestigious Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
The event is a four-day intensive course with a practical application project. It provides the research, tools, and customized training to meet the growing needs of leaders in religious communities and fundraisers of faith-based organizations. The focus of the ECRF is on the cultural, organizational, and philanthropic practices unique to religious institutions. These practices in turn enable donors motivated by spiritual and religious values to experience the joy of generous giving.
Classes are designed for religious leaders in faith-based organizations and institutions who wish to learn more about the spirituality of fundraising and gain a core foundation in fundraising principles.
The event is made up of four seminars: Nurturing Generous Congregations and Organizations, Nurturing Generous Donors, Fundraising as Ministry, and Shaping a Theology of Money. Also required are selected readings and a final project.
“I participated in this same course in February of 2017, and it was without a doubt the best continuing education investment I’ve ever made” said Ken Sloane, Director of Stewardship for Discipleship Ministries, who worked to bring this event to Nashville. “The course is intensive over four very full days, and I can testify that it was the most thorough presentation of religious fundraising I’ve ever experienced. The quality of the instruction was outstanding, and the materials and techniques offered have opened my eyes to new ways I can resource church leaders for growing generosity across our denomination.”
Registration is now open. Class size is limited to 26 participants. An early-bird registration price of $1,300 is available until June 10, 2019. The full price of $1,550 goes into effect after that date. Click here to sign up.
“The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy is a respected around the world as a cutting-edge learning center for growing generosity,” said Sloane. “Discipleship Ministries is extremely honored to have been selected as a host organization.”
