Churches Planting Churches 2020 Moving to Online Format
By Paul Nixon
Churches Planting Churches is moving to an online format starting August 25, 2020, and running through September 2020.The typical four-day weekend at a teaching church will be altered to become a six-week experience with a weekly cohort gathering and a weekly gathering of the local church team exploring how best to plant a new ministry site or platform.
The teaching churches for this online version of “Churches Planting Churches” are Apex United Methodist Church near Raleigh, North Carolina, and Cornerstone Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pastors Tim Catlett and Brad Kalajainen and their pastoral teams will join Paul Nixon, Greg Moore, Ken Nash, Kim Griffith, Dan Pezet, and others as we explore multiple facets of how churches can plant new places for new people.
The cost of the online experience is roughly half the cost of a physical gathering, at $1,500 per team.
Churches Planting Churches is in its third year. It is designed to help churches learn from mentor churches that have planted new faith communities effectively.
In addition, we hope to offer a live, in-person Churches Planting Churches summit in the Atlanta area, September 25-28, 2020, hosted by Nett Church (Rodrigo Cruz, pastor). Nett Church is a multicultural ministry pioneer in The United Methodist Church. More information on this multicultural planting summit will be available in July.
