Clergy Taxes: An Overview (February 10, 2025)

For almost a decade, Discipleship Ministries has offered a February webinar to help clergy get a clearer picture of their taxes. The key ingredient in that offering was Don Joiner, a staff member of our agency for 35 years, as well as a Certified Financial Planner and Clergy Tax preparer. Don’s sudden death in October 2024 came as a shock to all of us (you can read our remembrances of Don here). Don and I had already talked about his return to do our 2025 webinar on the date above. I know in my heart he would want us to continue it.

I’m so grateful that Janet Jamieson, Discipleship Ministries’ Chief Financial Officer, CPA, and a clergy spouse, will join me for the 2025 webinar this year. Without Don’s experience in preparing yearly tax returns for hundreds of clergy each year, we would not attempt to speak to every specific situation, but we will help as best we can.
