Disciples in the Marketplace: Episode 1 - Meet God, Share Grace
By David Teel
This video-based, small-group series highlights everyday disciples who are “disciples in the marketplace.” In each streaming video episode and the accompanying group discussion guide, ordinary people share how faith impacts their work life, and vice versa.
Episode One: 'Meet God, Share Grace'
Our first episode suggests that life is grace and a prayer for help answered. It also lifts up God’s work and nearing presence with us for life: God nears, grace works, and disciples see and join with grace at work. This episode also affirms that work life happens in specific contexts with their own afflictions and captivities that shape the kind of saving help needed. Through the main video and backstory clips, visual artist Omari Booker’s story reminds us that work can be healing, even and especially in places where forgotten people labor out of sight. He tells us that “daily life and work life are essential places to meet God and share grace.”
