God, Our Nation Feels the Loss
By Lisa Hancock
This hymn by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette was written in remembrance of the beloved children of God who died in the school shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
While written to the tune Pilot (“Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me”), “God, Our Nation Feels the Loss” can also be set to the tune Redhead (“Go to Dark Gethsemane”), particularly when sung during Holy Week.
