People sometimes think general church agencies are distant entities, far from grassroots church ministry. The Path 1 team at Discipleship Ministries would like to correct this perception. We are here to consult, troubleshoot, explore communities with you, help assess potential planter leaders, and much more. We work at all levels of the United Methodist connection, from the local church to the jurisdiction to the global level. We work in multiple paradigms, ranging from the Fresh Expressions movement to helping new conventional churches form well in the wake of disaffiliation or congregational splits. We can help equip vital church mergers, new campus plants, and even the launching of new worship communities.

In recent months, we have worked with three remnants of United Methodist churches in Northwest Texas as they regrouped into new churches after most of their members disaffiliated. Currently, we are training teams in the Holston and South Carolina conferences that are trying to develop new churches.
