PRESENTER: Rev. Ken Sloane
Handling money in the church is getting more complicated. Some of us remember a day when “cash or check” was the only variable once the offering plates were emptied. Donations were recorded on mimeographed counter’s forms, and each household’s donation were recorded on accounting ledger paper.
The world is much different today, and as money and technology have changed, our practices have had to adapt. Most often, we can build on a strong tradition of financial procedures and protocols. Sometimes when confronted by situations like the pandemic and the closing of church doors, we have to look for new and innovative ways to do our work safely.
Join Rev. Ken Sloane, Director of Stewardship and Generosity as we discuss the challenges for the “giving and receiving” aspect of church money management in 2022.
