SCD 2024: Where Information Meets Transformation for Leadership Excellence

At SCD 2024, our mission is to empower participants by transforming information acquisition into practical applications. We provide learning experiences that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world skills, fostering leadership excellence. Our programs are designed to ensure that learners gain knowledge and develop the ability to apply it effectively across various contexts, enhancing personal and professional growth.

FXUM DISCOVERY

Join us for FXUM Discovery, an interactive learning experience where participants will engage in dynamic conversations with theological architects, visionary leaders, and active cultivators of FXUM. This session will showcase live demonstrations of FXUM Christian community models. By the end of this experiential learning journey, participants will leave with actionable steps, practical tools, and inspiration from real-life experiences shared by FXUM practitioners. This session aims to equip participants with the essential elements to foster new FXUM units effectively.

TEACHING CHURCH

Through our Teaching Church program, participants will experience the impactful ministry practices of local churches. Participants will visit diverse churches that excel in connecting, loving, and serving their communities. This hands-on experience offers direct interaction and dialogue with local church leaders, providing insights into effective ministry practices. Participants will gain practical tools verified by local practitioners and will be inspired by the faithful stories of these dedicated leaders. At the end of the visits, participants will take home valuable insights and proven strategies to enhance their ministry's impact.

PEER LEARNING

Hanging out with friends and meeting new friends and colleagues is a unique way of acquiring information for ministry and translating acquired knowledge into straightforward applications that will ignite your passion and effectiveness in leadership. At SCD 2024, you will have many opportunities to meet with various stakeholders and practitioners and engage in conversations over meals or coffee, while watching a Major League team or touring the city of Chicago.

REFLECTION and INTEGRATION

An onsite prayer room will be available at the convention, featuring interactive prayer stations to help participants engage more deeply with the theme, “See, Create, Disciple.” This self-guided space will be available throughout the event for quiet reflection, creativity, and prayer. Collectively and individually, participants will take time each day to SEE what clouds their perspective and stands in the way of discipleship. Participants can reflect on how to CREATE space for people to hear a word from God that brings new life and vision to faith communities. Reflection time helps participants integrate insights and wisdom.

CORPORATE WORSHIP

The overarching theme for SCD 2024’s worship services draws inspiration from the road to Emmaus, as depicted in Luke 24:13-35. We journey on this road together, encountering Jesus, who teaches and calls us to connect with God’s love. During worship, we will pray for one another, the church, and the world; sing hymns and praise songs as beloved children of God; and consecrate our faith and lives to follow Jesus. In Schaumburg, every act expresses worship, fueling our leadership and discipleship as we move toward spiritual renewal and the transformation of the whole creation.
