'They Shall Come Weeping'

Jeremiah 50:4
In Response to the Shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee
On Monday, March 27, three children and three staff members of the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee were killed by a heavily armed young woman, who was later killed by police. The ages of the victims ranged from 9 to 61. We join with the many in prayer for the families and the community around both the victims and the perpetrator who had been a part of that school.
The school is a part of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Green Hills, so we weep with that faith community and offer solidarity and hope, as together we seek ways to change this all too familiar script. Let our tears bind us together as a community; let our anger move us toward justice and resolutions for the rising tide of gun violence in our society; and let our faith move us toward hope in a kingdom of righteousness, even as we pray that this kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
