Ukraine Response: Acts of Prayers and Support for Freedom, Peace, and Justice
By Bener Agtarap
As the people of Ukraine (including United Methodists) continue to face unimaginable hardships due to Vladimir Putin’s aggression against Ukrainian citizens, let us do whatever we can to support them through our prayers and acts of love and mercy.
Here are some ways to join the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian Methodists in their fight for freedom, peace, and justice:
- Prayers for Ukrainian Methodists by Rev. Martin Lee, Director of Congregational Development and Redevelopment of the Northern Illinois Conference of The United Methodist Church.
- Prayers for Ukraine compiled by Rev. Dr. Derek C. Weber, Director of Preaching Ministries, Discipleship Ministries of The United Methodist Church.
- UMCOR – How to Assist the Ukrainian People
- UMC Bishops Call for Peace in Ukraine: A Pastoral Letter from Bishop Christian Alsted, who serves in the Central Conference, which consists of Nordic, Baltic, and Eurasian countries, including Russia and Ukraine.
We, the people called United Methodists, are called to join our hands and hearts to support the people of Ukraine through our prayers and actions during this extremely dangerous time.
May God bless the country of Ukraine and its people and heal their land!
