A Collect for Reformation Sunday
(Based on Deuteronomy 34:1-12)

Great Promise Maker and Promise Keeper:
You who showed Moses a vision of a land of Milk and Honey,
You who used Joshua to lead the Children of Israel from Wilderness to Nation-building,
You who still call and send us to bring forth the Kingdom;

Pour out your Spirit on what is said this day.

May the sound of Christ's call stick to us like honey,
May the milk of Christ's nurturing voice comfort us past our fears.

Pour out your Spirit on us who hear this day.

May the touch of your hands on our hearts push us into Kingdom building,
May your burning and reforming fire urge us into action instead of reaction.

Pour out your Spirit on your church this day
that the world may reach for the reality of what shall be
instead of living in the broken shadow of what is
through the enlightening Creator, the shining Savior, and burning Spirit. Amen.
Amen. Amen.
