ADDITIONAL RESOURCES FOR BAPTISM OF THE LORD SUNDAY

Greeting

Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory of God's name,
worship the Lord in holy array.

The voice of the Lord is upon the water.
The God of glory thunders, the Lord upon many waters.

The voice of the Lord is powerful.
The voice of God is full of majesty.
Let us praise the name of the Lord!

(PSALM 29, ALT.)

Prayer

Living God,
when the Spirit descended on Jesus at his baptism in Jordan's water
you revealed him as your own beloved Son.
You anointed him with the Holy Spirit.
Grant that all who are baptized into his name
may keep the covenant they have made,
and boldly confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
now and for ever. Amen.
