God, We Praise You For The Women

Dan Damon is a United Methodist pastor in Richmond, California, and a gifted musician, piano player, composer, arranger, hymn writer, and personal friend. Quite some time ago I appealed to Dan to put his gifts to the task of writing a Mother's Day hymn that would celebrate mothers, their roles and gifts, reflecting the demands placed upon them and the strength they often exhibit rather than the soft, syrupy sweetness that often accompanies music for Mother's Day. This week, somewhat late or early for Mothers Day, depending upon your perspective, Dan has graciously made available this new text and tune. It is a marvelous addition to hymns for the day.
