Good News/Bad News: Reader's Theater and Interactive Scripture with Congregational Response

For Three Readers and Congregation
Note: where the R is printed, members of the congregation respond individually with a "thumbs up" while saying "good news" or with a "thumbs down" while saying "bad news." [There are no right or wrong answers; what is good news to some may be bad news to others.]

Reader 1: Gabriel came to Mary. (R = Response -- Good News/Bad News)

Reader 2: Hail, thou are blessed among women he said. R

Reader 2: Don’t be afraid. R

Reader 2: You have been selected. R

Reader 2: To bear God's Only Son! R

Reader 3: But, I am a virgin, Mary replied. R

Reader 3: How will this happen, she inquired? R

Reader 2: The Holy Ghost will come upon you.R

Reader 2: And you shall bear a son. R

Reader 1: He shall be called wonderful! R

Reader 1: Counselor, Prince of Peace, Almighty God! R

Reader 2: Mary said, May God do to me as you have said. R

All Readers: Nothing is impossible for God!
